Throughout this journal, I will share my experience by answering each of the prompts. I invite you to write out your thoughts here or in another notebook. I also encourage you to ask those around you. I believe that grieving would be a lot easier if everyone could experience the same feelings and emotions at the same time. I always wanted to decide the grieving that would happen the next day, before we went to sleep, but unfortunately, that is not how this works. I was able to smile, laugh, and find joy because I had good memories of the past celebrations and a lot of support from family and friends. We just kept repeating, “There are no rules to how someone grieves”. We tried to do things that brought comfort to each person. Take your time. Spend time breathing or go to a place that makes you feel calm or peaceful. Do one each day or a few at a time. You decide what is right for you. This is your journey.
